2022-2023 Safety Professional of the Year

The Greater Boston Chapter of ASSP is pleased to announce Michael ‘Miki’ Alroy as our 2022-2023 Safety Professional of the Year. Miki has been a benefit to the chapter at the Executive Committee, Chapter Communications, Student Section involvement and specifically in our fundraising efforts via the Boston Open Scholarship Golf Outing (BOSGO).

Miki’s efforts as Chair of the BOSGO event over the past two years has brought considerable funding and visibility to our scholarship program. Miki has implemented an electronic payment system for the sponsors and the golf foursomes which has streamlined our processes. The increase in raised funds allowed the Chapter to increase the scholarship levels for each student. This year’s event will be held on Friday, September 29th.

Miki also has brought renewed energy to the Executive Committee into focusing our recruiting efforts on our newest safety professionals with our Emerging Professional events. These social events are designed to attract new members and create a local cohort of EHS professionals who are the next generation of our chapter and national leadership. Stay tuned, as more events are being scheduled.

Chapter communication is another area where Miki has brought his skills in developing and publishing our Beanpot newsletter. With a modern design and updated logos, the Greater Boston Chapter has stepped into the current era in how we communicate with our members and associated organizations. This has carried over into our social medial posts as a stronger means to communicate with members and interested EHS personnel.

It is for these reasons and his commitment to the Greater Boston Chapter that we proudly recognize Michael Alroy for the 2022-2023 Safety Professional of the Year award.
