We are looking for a Director of Environmental, Health and Safety to oversee the creation and development of a Global Environment Health & Safety (EHS) strategy and toolkit. You will provide team leadership and coaching on achieving world-class performance related to environmental health and safety and coordinating all interaction with internal and external EHS resources. You will manage EHS team at our operations to comply with all applicable regulations and to create the necessary standards to achieve a safe and productive workplace and minimize the impact to the environment.

You will report into our SVP of Operations, and can be based in one of our four locations: San Carlos, CA, San Jose, CA, Devens, MA, or Natick, MA . This is an in-person, onsite position with 25% travel requirement.

Manufacturing Environmental Health and Safety Engineer

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer to join our team. You will ensure we comply with all environmental, health and safety regulations while making some of the most complex electrolyzer cells and stacks. You will spend most of their time on the factory floor, partnering with the manufacturing, engineering, and facilities to guarantee a safe workplace for all our employees.

Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Develop health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
  • Inspect the facilities to identify safety, health, and environmental risks in conjunction with local teams.
  • Develop inspection policies and procedures, and implement a schedule of routine inspections

EH&S Assistant Safety Officer-Chem, Env, Lab Safety

Under the general direction of the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager of the Chemical, Environmental & Lab Safety Unit, or designee, the EH&S Assistant Safety Officer is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Chemical, Environmental & Lab Safety Programs for UMass Medical School and/or UMass Memorial Medical Center Hospital based safety programs at their main and offsite campuses. They will assist the EH&S Manager with managing day to day operations of various programs. The EH&S Assistant Safety Officer will work independently to prioritize multiple projects and operationally manage multiple EH&S programs, may have direct report(s), and may assist managing an onsite regulatory response.

The EH&S Assistant Safety Officer is responsible for assisting with maintaining the organizations compliance with existing and developing standards and regulations issued by federal, state, municipal agencies and non-governmental and accreditation agencies. This includes OSHA, Mass DLS, EPA, DEA, DOT, TJC, NFPA, NIOSH, ANSI, CDC, Mass DOS, Mass DEP, Mass DPH, Worcester FD, and Worcester HD for the Medical School, as well as some Joint Commission Environment of Care compliance for UMass Memorial Medical Center and its licensed off-site facilities.

EH&S Director – Chemical, Environmental & Lab Safety (CELS)

The EH&S Director of Chemical, Environmental Management & Lab Safety (CELS) is responsible for leading all aspects of UMass Chan Medical Schools Chemical & Lab Safety, and Environmental Management Programs including development, management, and implementation of programs, regulatory compliance, and providing hands on support as well as strong leadership and mentoring in the EH&S CELS Team.

The primary purpose of this position is to oversee and direct the CELS Team in providing services directly to research and clinical laboratories through field consultations, technical guidance, inspections, training, data collection and analysis. This includes administering continual design, development, management, and improvement of chemical & lab safety programs, and environmental management programs for all research and clinical laboratories at UMass Chan, managing complex assessments of risks pertaining to people, property, and the environment to protect from potentially detrimental exposures and releases to a broad range of hazardous chemicals, hazardous materials, and hazardous wastes, and actively promoting a culture of safety to minimize risk while enhancing compliance.
