The Greater Boston Chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) is pleased to announce the results of the 2024 elections and extend a warm welcome to our newly elected officers and appointed chairs. These individuals bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion for the safety and health profession, and we are excited to see their contributions to our community in the coming year.

New Officers
Michael ‘Miki’ Alroy has been elected as our new President. Miki has already made a significant impact on the Chapter’s strategic efforts to recruit emerging safety professionals, enhance the Chapter Beanpot newsletter, and expand the visibility and reach of the Chapter’s Boston Open Scholarship Golf Outing (BOSGO) that funds student scholarships. We look forward to seeing the Chapter future directions under Miki’s leadership.
Brian Hanlon has been elected as our new President Elect. Brian has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to safety. We are confident that he will continue to drive our chapter forward with his innovative ideas and dedication.
Mike Sample has been elected as Treasurer. Mike’s expertise in financial management and his dedication to safety make him a valuable asset to our chapter’s leadership team. We look forward to his contributions in maintaining and enhancing our chapter’s financial health.
Cesar Morocho has been elected as Secretary. Cesar’s organizational skills and attention to detail will ensure that our chapter’s communications and records are managed effectively. We are excited to have him on board in this critical role. Cesar will also continue supporting the Chapter Student Sections and overseeing the scholarship awards.
New Chairs
We are also delighted to recognize the following individuals for their new roles within our chapter:
Steven Marcassoli has been appointed as the Technical Meeting Chair. Steven’s expertise and enthusiasm for technical education will be instrumental in organizing engaging and informative meetings for our members.
Ryan McNally has been appointed as the Co-Chair of the Emerging Professionals Committee. Ryan’s passion for mentoring and supporting the next generation of safety professionals is commendable, and we are eager to see the impact he will make in this role.
Chapter Achievements
In addition to welcoming our new officers and chairs, we are proud to recognize the outstanding achievements of Jeff Myung and the entire Chapter Executive Committee for achieving Platinum Status for the second year running. This prestigious recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and excellence of our chapter in promoting safety and health within our community.
