Managing Asbestos, Lead, PCBs, and Environmental Contamination Risks in Construction, Renovation & Redevelopment
A Joint Technical Meeting Hosted by the Greater Boston Chapter of ASSP and AGCMA
The Greater Boston Chapter of ASSP is excited to partner with AGCMA to present an engaging and interactive technical meeting focused on one of the construction industry’s most persistent challenges—unexpected environmental hazards.
Every experienced construction professional has heard the phrase:
“Nobody told us that was there.”
Whether it’s asbestos hidden above a ceiling, lead-coated structural steel, PCB-containing building materials, or petroleum contamination uncovered during excavation, environmental hazards continue to impact projects across New England. These discoveries can trigger work stoppages, schedule delays, costly change orders, worker exposures, regulatory notifications, and increased project risk.
Through real-world case studies and interactive exercises, this program will provide practical strategies to help construction and safety professionals identify, manage, and communicate environmental risks before they become project failures.
